A Walk in the Park will take place on the second Friday of each month instead of Short Walks, starting with the walk on 8 November 2024. in Gedling Country Park.
We are extremely fortunate to have several lovely parks that look quite different throughout the seasons. The ones that we shall use most frequently are Gedling Country Park, Colwick Park, Bestwood Park, Rushcliffe Country Park, Corgrave Country Park and Holme Pierrepont. Those of us who went to Brierley Forest early in the summer thoroughly enjoyed it and we agreed that it was worth the journey and car sharing worked well. Attenborough and Wollaton Hall are additional options. These parks will usually provide us with a three mile route on easy footpaths.
The greatest advantage to A Walk in the Park is that on most occasions we will not need to call on a volunteer to perform a full recce as most parks are well maintained and safe for walking all year round. They are also good for those of us who wish to walk with our dogs.
