We’re back anther amateur drama written by Linda Stevenson and performed by the MaD u3a amdram group.

55 years after leaving school some bright spark decided to organise a school reunion. Life had always got in the way of organising one before: work and family commitments, so have they left it too late. Still, some would say it is never too late, or is it? After months of planning and reaching some dead ends (literally) when trying to reconnect with old school pals the night of the reunion has finally arrived.

Those attending have high hopes of reconnecting with old friends but memories fade over time. Will they recognise their old friends and remember their adversaries, will long forgotten feuds and friendships resurface, and more importantly will the evening be a resounding success or be a damp squib?

The current head teacher at the school, a young and trendy ‘lad’, welcomed the idea of old folks revisiting the school and agreed to provide food and refreshments (a few curled up sandwiches and copious amounts of alcohol-free wine) much to the distain of the self-proclaimed alcoholics in the group, who thankfully had the foresight to bring along their preferred tipples to liven things up.

Consider yourself invited. Don’t worry the bar will open at 7:00pm where you will be able to get alcohol. Some light bites – better than a few curled up sandwiches – will also be provided. Also included is a free raffle and a retro-themed quiz.
